We often wait many years before decisions are made about the future of bells we agree to store for potential customers. Indeed, it is not unknown for us to wait many decades. In recent times we had a phone call from a town council asking about their large mediaeval market bell we had removed 25 years earlier. This bell, like many dozens of others, was stored in one of two pits under the Foundry floor. It was retrieved, conserved, new fittings were made, and it was hung back in its rightful home. The many bells that are with us for only a small number of years wait their turn above ground stacked like Russian dolls in our works!
