Kensal Green, London.

St John the Evangelist.

United Kingdom

This church has placed an order for the removal of their existing single bell which will be conserved and rehung on new fittings for slow swinging once funds permit.

A new chime of six bells (tenor 2.5 cwts) will be cast and installed in the existing bell frame, with a possible extension of two more bells at a later date. The bells will be chimed using electro-magnetic hammers linked to a pre-programmed Apollo unit, which will also be supplied and installed.

New mezzanine floors will be installed in the tower and new access ladders will be manufactured and installed to complete the project.

The project is being largely funded by a generous donation from Tony Fernandes, owner of QPR Football Club.

Update

  • Work in the tower to install the floors has been completed. All six bells have been cast and are in the fettling shop for cleaning. The manufacturing of the headstocks in steel has been completed and these have been galvanised.

All steel component parts have been returned from the galvanizers and are ready for dispatch.

The six bells have now been tuned and are ready for dispatch.

The bells have been dedicated before being hung.
