The Cemetery Chapel Bell
This 19th Century Taylor bell weighs over a ton. The bell, its frame and fittings were removed for a complete conservation restoration. The bell was cleaned by sand blasting, and its hardwood headstock conserved and re-used with new box gudgeons and ball bearings. The iron strapwork was replaced, and the clapper and crown staple restored. The cast iron “A” frame was sand blasted clean, and repainted before the bell was rehung for swing chiming.
Work to the bell and fittings has been completed. The bell frame sides have been cleaned by sandblasting.
