York, North Yorkshire

St. Michael's, Spurriergate.

United Kingdom

After more than 30 years of continuous ringing since being rehung in a new frame and with new fittings by Taylor’s, an order has been placed to carry out a full service of the ancient ring of six in this church, five of which were the trebles of the world’s first ring of twelve that hung in York Minster. The clappers will be removed and re-set for evenness of striking, one of the rope roller boxes will be replaced, and a new tenor bell rope will be provided and fitted.
