The tower of this church houses a classic Taylor eight, with the entire installation dating from 1937. With a tenor bell weighing in a little shy of 25 cwts., this is one of those much talked about rings of bells that are greatly admired.
An accident caused the stay socket of the 2nd bell's cast iron headstock to be fractured. This will be removed and taken to Loughborough for specialist welding. The radial "Hastings" slider is also damaged and will be replaced with a new one and the bell rehung.
