Charnwood Borough Council has commissioned the casting of a Westminster Chime of five bells - largest 25 cwts to be hung in an independent structure in Queen's Park, Loughborough. The bells will form a lasting memorial to residents who died in the Covid19 outbreak, and remember all those public servants who put themselves at risk dealing with the pandemic.
All the bells have now been cast and fettled, and the manufacture of the supporting structure will begin later this year before being erected near the Loughborough carillon tower..
The manufacturing of the massive free standing structure in which the bells will hang is underway.
Construction of the free standing bell structure is taking place in our "girder store" where sufficient height is available.

The free standing bell frame structure has been returned from the galvanisers and has been erected in Queen's Park.
This project is due for completion in the first months of 2025 to fit in with the local authority's timetable.
