Thursday 3rd October proved to be a bright sunny day after weeks of rain and dull overcast days - what a fortunate omen for the Opening Event after our major restoration and development of the site.
Over a hundred guests were present representing the many facets involved in bringing about the transformation, and a lovely day was had by all. The formal welcome speeches and ribbon cutting was followed by conducted tours of the new archive and works and lunch in the new Board Room. After lunch the focus moved to the new Museum and the casting of two bells to mark the day. The day concluded with a party in the Board Room as a thank you to the staff for all they've had to endure during the restoration process.
An Open Day is also taking place on Saturday 19th October (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.) to thank local residents and all donors to the restoration fund. We cannot contact the many hundreds of donors so please take this as an invitation to join us.
