Work on the Foundry Carillon Continues!

Progress on replacing the Foundry Carillon of 47 bells, largest 25 cwts., continues to progress slowly as funds become available. This bell, weighing approximately 12 cwts, was cast recently in memory of Harold & Hazel Oakley, founders of The Oakley Charitable Trust. It is a beautiful casting.

The original carillon was sold off in the 1930's when company finances were difficult, and it has fallen to this generation to try to replace it - it is a gigantic task and very expensive. Should anyone wish to make a donation towards the new carillon please do contact the Foundry.
