The fifth bell clapper and crown staple from this 9 cwt six came out of the bell during ringing and was hit by the bell as it rotated. The clapper finished up “banana shaped” and the cast iron crown staple fractured in two places. A new clapper and crown staple have been manufactured as a replacement.
