Galleywall Primary - City of London Academy.

United Kingdom

Galleywall Primary – City of London Academy in Bermondsey dates back to 1876. Galleywall lost its school bell, possibly during World War II. Following an approach by the Heritage of London Trust it has been decided that a new replacement bell will be cast and hung, funded by the Trust. The new bell will have a diameter of 18″ and will be cast with a bespoke inscription chosen by the school to commemorate the restoration of their historic school building to its full glory for the local community. The new bell’s rope will be fed down to a room at the top floor of the school so that children can ring it to mark the start of the school day, and on special celebration days.
