All Saints' Parish Church

United Kingdom

The tower of this church houses a 13 cwt ring of six which are rung from the ground floor. Bells 2, 3, 5, & 6 are the work of Matthew I Bagley, and date from 1687, Bells 1 & 3 were cast by the Rudhall Foundry in 1810 & 1726 respectively. The last major rehang took place in 1892 and was carried out by Thomas Mallaby of Masham, North Yorkshire. This work included the provision of a new oak bell frame, all new fittings, and the quarter turning of the bells.

Major maintenance work will now be carried out. The bells will be lowered, and the headstocks will be brought to Loughborough for the fitting of new plate gudgeons and ball bearings housed in cast iron bearing housings. The clappers and crown staples will be fully refurbished, and the rope roller boxes will be restored before the bells are rehung.

  • The fittings have been removed from the bells and are at Loughborough.
All fittings have been restored and are ready for dispatch.
