South Hill, Cornwall.
St Sampson's Parish Church.
This tower houses an unringable five with a tenor bell weighing 7 cwts. Bells 1 – 4 were cast by John I, (T) Pennington & John Stadler and are dated 1698. The tenor bell is the work of William & Charles Pannell and dates from 1831.
The bells will be removed from the tower and will be kept in storage at Loughborough for the time being. Once funds allow the bells will be conserved and rehung in the existing bell frame on new deadstocks for chiming only, and new electro-magnetic chiming hammers and an Apollo System will be installed.
These bells have been removed and are now at the Foundry.
