Sunbury on Thames, Surrey.

St Ignatius' R.C. Church.

United Kingdom

The bell turret at this church houses a 4 cwt 19th century bell which has not sounded for many years past. The church has placed a contract for the bell to be removed to Loughborough for conservation work, the drilling out of its iron cast-in crown staple, and the removal of its canons. New chiming fittings in stainless steel will be manufactured and an electro-magnetic chiming hammer fitted before the bell is returned. Once installed an Angelus tolling unit will be installed to sound the bell at set intervals and for services as required.

Update

  • This bell has been removed and is at the Foundry.
