SKIPTON’S FINE RING OF EIGHT ARE 100 YEARS OLD!

Taylor’s are rightly proud of many of their rings of bells, and ringers vie with each other as to which are the finest. But Skipton’s 22 cwt eight are universally acknowledged as being in the top league, and are talked about universally. May 2021 saw the centenary of their casting, and August sees the centenary of their installation. The Skipton ringers are preparing various celebrations to mark their centenary, all of which are detailed on their website.

The weekend of 17th/18th July is being marked by the “SKIPTON FESTIVAL OF BELLS” to which all are invited. To help with the celebrations Taylor’s has commissioned a 2 metre high banner to be manufactured, and this is pictured in Skipton Parish Church as a part of their exhibition on their bells’ history.
