Towers that encounter complaints over their bells being rung regularly contact Taylor’s, and contract for the fitting of adjustable sound control systems. The “Hopper Type” system illustrated in the photograph proves an effective way to reduce sound emissions to the minimum when closed, and to a reasonable volume when open. The system is completely automatic, being operated by the flick of a switch. Manual systems can also be installed.
The weather proofing of louvres to stop the wetting of the insides of belfries also forms a regular part of our services. The damage done by the constant ingress of water severely shortens the lifespan of bell frames, fittings and floors, and with modern materials this is unnecessary.
