The turret of this church houses a 1 cwt bell that was recast and rehung for swing chiming by Taylor’s in 1927.After a hundred years of exposure to the effects of the weather restoration is now needed.
The bell and its fittings will be removed from the turret and brought to Loughborough for restoration. The wrought iron headstock will be cleaned and its gudgeons and bearings restored. The wooden bell wheel will be re-soled and re-shrouded and it’s centre refurbished. The clapper and crown staple will be restored and a new transmission and traditional bell rope will be manufactured. The bell will be rehung for swing chiming.
