September, 2025 | 2025 Projects

The unringable 8 cwt five at this church was removed from the tower four years ago and the parish has now ordered the bells to be conserved and new chiming fittings to be manufactured for them. The front four bells date from 1698 and are the work of John Penington & John Stadler and are listed for preservation. so no tuning of the bells will be allowed. The tenor bell dates from 1831 and is the work of William & Charles Pannell. After conservation work the bells will be rehung in the existing wooden bell frame on new galvanised steel headstocks with timber bell pads. Internal electro-magnetic hammers and an Apollo Unit will be manufactured and installed to complete the works.
