The steeple of this church houses a 9cwt ring of six, with five of the bells being cast by Taylor’s in 1973 and the 2nd bell by Gillett & Johnston in 1936. Excessive rusting of the headstocks of the bells on the upper tier have rendered the gudgeons of bells 1 & 3 unsafe. The fittings of these bells will be returned to Loughborough for restoration. New gudgeons will be fitted to the headstocks, and the bearings will be checked/replaced as necessary. The bell wheels will be re-soled and re-shrouded before the bells are rehung.
* This work is in progress.
* The headstocks are at the Foundry.
* Work has been completed at Loughborough and all is ready for dispatch.
This project has been completed.
