The 7 cwt. single bell at this church was cast an installed by Taylor’s in 1893, and after more than 130 years of service its ringing fittings need an overhaul.
The bell will be lowered into its pit and its headstock, clapper, crown staple, bell bolts and bell pad will be removed to Loughborough. The headstock will be cleaned by sandblasting, fitted with new gudegeons and ball bearings, and be repainted. New bell bolts and a bell pad will be manufactured. The clapper and crown staple will be fully refurbished. The bell will then be rehung.
