Following a devastating fire which burned out the entire church, the church’s three bells were removed to Loughborough. The bells, with an 8 cwt tenor are the work of George I Oldfield and Henry II Oldfied, and date 1662, 1612 & 1616 respectively. A decision has now been made to reinstate the bells in the tower for stationary chiming by trigger action clappers. Work to repair the fire damaged oak bell frame will be completed first. The bells were damaged in the fire and are probably cracked.They will be conserved, welded and annealed before new traditional fittings are manufactured for them.
* The bells are being conserved with the drilling out of their crown staples.
* The bells are being prepared for the fitting of their new headstocks.
* The new headstcocks have been manufactured and fitted.
* Further progress will be made as the restoration of the building is made.
