The 20 cwt eight in this tower is the work of three founders, Thomas I Bilbie, Thomas ( Castleman) Bilbie, and Warner’s, with bells dating between 1734 & 1889. The bells were rehung by Warner’s in a cast iron frame in 1889, and the gudgeons & bearings were subsequently replaced by Taylor’s in the 1930’s..

An order has been placed for all the clappers and crown staples to be removed to Loughborough for restoration and refurbishment. A new spheroidal graphite clapper and crown staple will be manufactured for the 7th bell, and all the wrought iron clappers will be annealed and refaced. Those clappers with independent crown staples will be fully rebushed, and those with baldrick top clappers will be fully refurbished.

This project has been completed.
