The western tower of this cathedral houses a 27 cwt ring of ten that were cast and installed by Gillett & Johnston in 1925.

New permanent lifting beams will be installed in the belfry. The bells, frame and fittings will be removed to allow a major restoration and augmentation to take place. Three new bells will be cast to augment the ring to 12, with a sharp 2nd bell to provide a light ring of eight. A new cast iron and galvanised  steel bell frame will be manufactured and installed slightly lower in the tower. With the exception of the bell wheel centres, all new bell fittings will be manufactured.

An automatic chiming system will be installed on all thirteen bells, with electro-magnetic hammers and a programmable Apollo Unit.

The existing belfry floor will be removed and a new floor slightly lower in the tower will be installed. A new sound control system will be manufactured and installed.
