The tower of this church houses a 7 cwt ring of six. A major restoration and augmentation was carried out in 1959 when Taylor's cast four new treble bells to augment the Samuel I Smith tenors of 1691. At that time a new cast iron bell frame and all new fittings were manufactured and installed.
An order has now been received to lift all the bells from their pits for the inspection/cleaning/replacement of their bearings, and for all the rope roller boxes, clappers and crown staples to be fully restored. The bell frame will be cleaned and re-painted to complete the work.
The bells have been lifted and their bearings attended to.
The clappers, crown staples and rope roller boxes have been removed to Loughborough.
