The tower of this church houses a classic 22 cwt Taylor eight dating from 1911 that are noted for their beautiful tone. Severe rusting has caused damage to the cast iron bell frame, with a number of the frame bases fracturing. The affected “H” framesides will be dismantled and repaired by welding. All the bell frame base bolts will be removed and be replaced with galvanised steel bolts. New top frame anchor wall fixings will be manufactured and fitted. The bells will be lifted from their pits and their bearings cleaned/replaced as necessary. The clappers and crown staples will be removed to Loughborough for complete restoration and annealing. Internal acoustic improvements will also be undertaken.
* Work on this project has started.
* Clappers and crown staples are at Loughborough.
Work has been completed and the bells test rung.
