The tower of this church houses a 17cwt eight which were last rehung by Taylor’s in a cast iron bell frame and with all new fittings in 1905. An order has now been placed for the bells to be removed from the tower for a full refurbishment. In 1905 the parish requested that the bells should not be tuned – tuning will now take place. The bell fittings will be fully restored and new gudgeons and bearings fitted to the existing cast iron headstocks. The bell wheels will be re-soled and re-shrouded, and the rope roller boxes have new hardwood wheels and bearings installed. The clappers and crown staples will be fully restored. While the bells are at Loughborough the bell frame will be completely cleaned and repainted.
The manufacture and fitting of a new rope guide has now been included with this project.
